This seems to be quite a common story coming back from track days at taupo over the last month or, buckets making big bikes look silly

Good stuff steve would have been there myself if I had been going to Taupo.

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

    Granma here.

Yes the two of them certainly did make those boys & girls on the big bikes look really slow.

Of course they weren't allowed to pass on the inside either. Steve had a guy (when he was in the wobbler group)on a 1000 Gixer fly passed him right on a corner...now that shouldn't be a problem right.....except that he slammed on the brakes right in front of Steve. Steve had to either hit him or go on the inside. Next thing Steve was getting told off for passing on the inside!!!!!
We have it all on video tho. The guy on the gixer, binned it twice on the left hander at the end of the front straight.

In the intermediate class they really stood out as they were the only two riders to get there knees down. The rest of the class sat real rigid on the seats or had their body positions all wrong.

Tim and Steve did have a great ride in the last event of the day. Of course they weren't racing.

it was non competitive see who gets to the finish line first type of riding was it

wonder what the marshals would say about a Mt Welly race
no passing on the inside or on the grass or over the other rider

    Granma here.

For my first time, I just went out with the intention of having a great time and enjoying myself on such a big track.
The first few laps were a bit scary, but then i really got into remembering the corners and trying to go a bit faster each time.

I haven't ridden there before either, but I'm just going to stick to my usual game plan: Have fun and try not to fall off.

    Hi Guys Granma here again,

XR-Rider here has posted a request for a ride back to Welly after the Spectacular.
He's doing a spot of marshalling for us all.
Can any of you from Wellington help him out?

Bum! I would but he'd have to sit on the back of my Hornet.... and the most pillion passengering I've done is in a car park, so maybe not. Surely there's someone out there who can give this fella a safe ride home!

I haven't offered yet as we're still up in the air about our plans after the endurance race. I still don't know how much stuff we'll be carrying or anything... There will be a way back though if nothing else turns up.
