Self inflicted as well. I have removed the counterbalancer but couldn't get the bearing for it out of the left case. I tried heat and banging it but it didn't even move. Yesterday it did. It fell into the gears, did a few laps inside and then somehow passed throught the hole in the right case where the counterbalancer and the other bearing was and ended up resting down by the gear select mechanism. How it didn't break up or jam a cog, or how it got past the primary gear I don't know. The box won't reliably shift from 5th to 4th now. Some good luck, some bad luck. It could have been another engine explosion easily.

It might have been someone with a loud exhaust that passed him and caused it

    Hey all. I'm OK.
They suspected a head injury due to me face planting the track and the damage to my helmet and my neck was a bit sore, so that's why all the drama with the ambo, which was fair enough, sorry about ending the race early fellas!!
The ambo people did a top job of looking after me too, so big thanks to them and everyone else that assisted me to get off the track when I couldn't stand up, legs had turned to jelly, you guys are awesome!! And all Dangerous was concerned about was me growling him for unceremoniously dumping Pamela in the grass to rush to my aid... *chuckle* funny guy!

Anyway, no broken bones that they could see, very sore swollen and bruised knuckles (? how the hell did I bruise my knuckles? Well, I guess the makers of gloves know how riders fall and that's why I have all that hard armor in the knuckles!!) and thumbs and wrists, sore head from suspected concusion... so yes, more dizzy and confused than I normally am. Otherwise I'm all good, bike came out fairly unscathed, ground down a bit of nylon and bent the gear shift, that's all, pretty good!! Guess I have to fix it too as my motto is when someone rides my bike "You crash it, you fix it!"
I had an awesome weekend, Taupo rocks!! Thanks to everyone who organised, helped run, volunteered etc etc for doing such a wicked job, you guys made the weekend so stress free and fun, so thanks!! I'll be back next year.... with Rangi!!!!
Oh, and thanks for the Hard Luck award too..... sucked I had to get an award that way, but it will still be pride of place with my other bucket trophies... until I win the next one for being a drongo!!! Oh and I didn't actually qualify 8th for the GP, the times were a bit.... um.... dodgy for want of a better word... no way was I doing 1:34 around there... as much as I wish I could!!

Ummm, I have no idea... I glanced at the bike this morning but they were all loaded on, so it may still be there when they arrive back late tonight, no biggy anyway, it's a bucket, I'll make another one. Thanks though!

Didn't get to see much of the racing but was very impressed with the bikes. Some mighty fast machines up AKL way and it looked like everyone was having a ball. Next year the whole Welly crew will have to represent

I'm very pleased you are ok Trudes. I was being all positive with Nige - just precaution, look she's waving, look I saw her leg - she must be fine....I told him today think it was actually more to keep me calm than to be of much comfort to him Glad you are ok doll and remember! I wanna see a bruise progression thread

there was a guy on a rg150 in your garage that was happy you finished the race when you did

he had crashed in turn 1 and thought his race was over
thanks to the race finishing early he finished third not last
so he owes you big make sure he buys a round next
