If someone is willing to pay her that amount, then yes. Can't blame her (I know no-one her is, so far) for accepting a pay rise, even a substantial one such as this. I know if someone offered me that sort of coin, I would take it and love every minute of it.

However, for a role such as hers, yes it is too much.

Too many people are saying "Oh she doesnt deserve it!" - bullshit. The case is no one actually deserves it. Why dont you go an complain that someone else won lotto even though u had a ticket. I say good on her for accepting it - i bloody would have.

yeah, if it was some shitty companys money, I wouldnt care... but I pay tax and dont even watch one news (was gunna tonite but she wasnt even on it! at $15000 a week, she shouldnt get a fuckin holiday on my coin)

What near the end of the series Tim Allen was gettin payed a cool mill for every episode. For New Zealand television and for the news....................... yes it is to much

But that's her boss's fault. Hell i would slap her over the head if she said no to a pay rise like that. Even if she did ask and they caved.

Whether its tax money or not doesn't matter in my book as in the end we the customer pay. I don't see this as any worse than Teresa Gattung getting $2.8m/year. If she and all her managers took a reasonable wage imagine how cheap our phone services could be.

It was the same shit at Tranz Rail, as the profits of the company sagged due to the rip offs taking cash out of the business, the Managing Director and his close knit group of management cronies kept doubling their salaries because "Oh their jobs were so tough". Were any of them worth it? Compared to the average worker - no way. No person can be 50 - 100 times better than the next guy.

Its American capitalism at its best and it is well and truly in this country now.

Talking about naked, when I was in Melbourne in November I liked the Naked News on at 10.30pm and repeated again at midnight. It didn't matter that by the time the Comedy Channel played it, it was about 3 weeks old. In North America they get it daily on time I guess. Seems it started as a net thing and then hit the pay TV. Marvellous, but I wouldn't have a clue what they paid the chicks.
