    Or maybe not...

I could go "Bumpetty doodah, bumpetty-aayyyy" again, or Blakamin could move this to the "Events" forum where it belongs....

(Didja notice the way I boldened Blakamin's name, to accord proper respect to him? Didja?)

Yeah, good to meet up with you (Dangerous) and others in Nelson. I should post a newbie on the newbie page. We had a good ride bak to Chch. My mate cleaned up a seagull at 110kph just out of Kaikoura-he never flinched.

Did he cook it first, or just eat it raw, feathers and all?

I just rang Mrs Mangell, and they made it back last night at 11:45pm, and had to ford rivers of water and rubble on Greys road, which they weren't quite expecting.

They have now headed off to the Johnsonville finish line, and are in the process of checking in.

Viffer - up the meds bro. You don't need a Guilt complex as well.

Aren't on any at the moment - just enjoying the wave of mania....

The Guilt is because I looked forward to the guys visiting (don't get many visitors - prolly on account of The Mania, or maybe The Boringness), so I'd planned to be a GoodHost(TM). However, My inexperience and excitement at having RealLiveSemi-CaptiveGuestsWhoWereAlsoBikers took over, so I bored them senseless with my life history and sundry bullshit. :"yawning almost to the point of death" emoticon/smiley

    Cool

Congrats to all those hardy souls who Big 50'd their way into the Big 50 books. I'll be one of you one day. Of course, if Hitcher loans me his bike i'd do it just for a weekend ride... instead of the "owww_my_wrists_fest" the SV would make it (i need to harden up eh...).

I'd visit ya (with a few small proviso's):

    a) Move Islands (or at least out of that crazy outfit you reside in)
    b) Stock Speights Old Dark in large amounts
    c) Have "Man Den". XBox, Sky, Large Screen, Beer Fridge, Tools tools and more tools.

    YARGH!! No, no, NO!!

Provisos. No apostrophe needed. Proviso in this context doesn't "belong" to anything or anyone. It also isn't a contraction (i.e. a shortening such as isn't or can't).

    Editor's Note to Hitcher:
His provisos could instead be written "provis'o's", if they were "provisions" ???

    (a) Yeah, the weather sux, the drivers are loco.
    (b) Would a couple of Speights Summer Ale and a few more Macs (Gold, Blonde) do, at a pinch?
    (c) Have PS2, large-ish Loewe screen with 120W/channel 6.1 sound system, beer in fridge, and some tools. Unfortunately, most of these are adjacent to the Man Den, rather than in it. :disapint:

Right, has everyone got that? There will be an exam at 4:00pm. Those who fail and so fail in Hitch's efforts to take us back to skool will hve his golden dictosaurus wand waved at our bikes, the result being they all turn into STX1300 machines. For someof you, this will be an upgrade

Close enough on all counts, discounting the Macs Blond. Bleh. That's settled then. You move, i'll bring round some Old Dark and some lego?

Got plenty of lego, apart from all the little bits eaten by the couch and the vacuum cleaner.

    Hey Hitch

I was gonna post this link (although it's probably been done b4) in an effort to improve our shoddy Unglush, but i entered my post, and it didn't pull me up on proviso's. Bugger eh?

    Actually, neither did MS Word...

    Great news - thanks Jim2

Ha, it's fine. I hadn't seen you in nearly 10 years so a bit of catching up was good. Besides, Wednesday was the "easy" day, only 820 k's. You didn't make us late leaving, I had an upset stomach and felt like crap so was moving fairly slowly.
