Wendy, thats not the point (and I'm not aiming this at you personally)

    - how would 'ol Ginga know that? (or indeed people on KB who are reading it also - being that the majority don't do the ATNR)?

Here people are talking about complaining to the press and the police complaints authority about harassment. Or complaining that there were 8 cops there on the night?

Yet in the same thread you have comments like #141.

Thats why (assuming Ginga reads this stuff), you guys who are having legitimate issues with him wont have any luck what so ever. He will simply print out the stuff that you guys have given him (again not pointing at you personally).

Before people start throwing stones - you have to be squeeky clean - and unfortuantly the ATNR is not - proven by the fact that 5 people lost their licence in a single evening.

Gladly stop at a check point, be polite and show you are riding legally, right bike for license, inside hours for license, fully registered and current WOF and not over limit for booze. Ride within the speed limit at all times, shit some of those corners on the ride will THRILL you at legal open road speeds lets face it. Obey posted speed limits at all times, particularly on the straight bits in 80kmph areas. Simple really...LOL

    Hi guys

After reading through the whinge-fest that is the gingaa copper thread, I have a question about riding with headlights on high beam. I ride with headlights on high beam all the time, one of the guys on the ride got pinged by a cop for not dipping his.

If I dip my high beam for every oncoming car, I'm gonna look like a strobe light, and many cars waiting to turn will probably think I'm telling them to turn in front of me and kill me.

I like riding with high beam as it does make me more visible, but I'm guessing were in the wrong and if we are pulled over for it will get fined a fair bit?

If I wasn't such a mild-mannered, pleasant chappie, I'd call you a very rude name. I get really pissed off with bikers who ride with their lights on high beam, particularly when they follow me when I'm in the car. It's illegal - don't f*kn do it!
A couple of weeks ago, I was driving back from the Wild West one night, ands there was this really annoying bike behind me - the lights were so bright, I had to dip the mirror, and move over in my seat tos the (tinted!) wing mirror wasn't dazzling me. I was about to pull over and flag the guy down and tell him off, when he turned off to the left.

    I twas a bike cop.
I suspect the lights on his BMW weren't on high-beam, just very bright, and relatively high. I'm glad I was driving sedately.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Why was my post included in the list of ones apparently inciting some form of violence?
If you guys are serious about 'getting' this ginga, you need to beat him at his own game and talking about what you'll do, on here where he can read it, is just giving him fair warning of what to expect. By all means use dissemination to mislead, but actually 'do' something else that he's not expecting. Like take the ride somewhere else. Or behave. Or actually gather appropriate evidence to back up your official complaint to the PCA.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

No more visible than dipped beam and at the same time making it a damn sight harder for other vehicles to judge your distance and approach speed. By riding on high beam when other vehicles are present you are in fact doing yourself a great disservice and other road users a discourtesy. The only time I ride with my headlight on high beam around other vehicles is when following someone without mirrors which is very rare.
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!

I've noticed guy that ride on full beam tend to make any bikes following them 'invisible' - especially if the fillowing bikes have not got their headlights on.

Interesting...ever since i started riding *counts fingers* ten months ago, I have been told by the more experienced riders I've met to ride with high beam, thats where I got the habit from.

So I should ride with high beam off except at night *open road* etc. In fact when I did my on road riding course to get better skills when I first started riding I was told to ride with high beam.

So is speeding, but an overwhelming majority still ride like it's a race on the open road, the times I've heard, oh yeah I cruise at 140 or 160 is too many to count. , I'm glad your a happy chappy.

No worries. Was a genuine mistake. It was clearly marked as a road on a streetmap.
