    David's Round 2

As I hadn’t been to Manfeild for a while I decided to head down to the practice day on Friday. So had headed off Thursday evening to Bulls for the night.

I got to the track fairly early and got all setup in good time. The first couple sessions went alright and by the end of the 2nd session was able to get into the swing of things.

Coming in from this session show my back tyre was chewing up pretty bad so I quick chat to Robert Taylor and a spring change I was back out on the track. This time it was better but we decided to go a bit stiffer again.

The rest of the day I just focused on getting smoother and faster. Finished up tired but fairly happy with the result.

Saturday I got to the track bright and early to make sure I got a pit. The day was looking very promising weather wise despite starting off very cold .

Qualifying: I went out at the back of the pack and tried to put some fast laps in but had tons of traffic to deal with so only qualified 8th . In Hinesight I probably should have tried to start off closer to the front.

Race 1: I got an Ok start but lost a couple places. From there I just tried to put my head down and managed to pick up a few places. I had a real good dice with some green machine - I would catch up with him in the corners but wouldn’t be able to quite get past him then he would pull away out of the corners. I managed to finally get past him through the S’s but stuffed up the hairpin allowing him back past. I ended up finishing a bike length or two behind. 5th in Clubmans A.

Afterward I went and said hello to the owner of the green machine. On asking what the machine was thinking it was about a 05ish ZXR 600 I was quite surprised to find it was an R1 in disguise .

Race 2: I got a worse start so once again I was left playing catch up. Being a long race I had a bit of time up my sleeve so was able to get past a few people. Unfortunately I ran out of laps before I could catch up to mister green machine. So was left once again in 5th for clubmans A.

All in All I was pretty happy with everything went and was pretty stoked to get down to a 1:19 in the last race. Thanks again to the Vic Club for putting on an awesome series!! And Robert Taylor for taking time out of his busy day to help me out.

    Bring on the next round!!!

Thanks Vicki, Yeah I'm contemplating switching for the next round as I recon riding with faster people makes you go faster.

You were looking really fast & smooth out there. Cya at the next round.
