Be interesting to see just how much money the Maori Parliament contributes to roading, healthcare etc.

If Helen gets in again, I genuinely don't know what I will do. Still...she is better than Robert Mugabe and his best mate Jacob Zuma.

When I find these regulations to be unsatisfactory I speak out. I have no idea of the rigour of the Maori WOF and licences and I merely pointed out that if they were not raised with appropriate rigour to ensure safety on the public highway then the issuing authority should be prepared to face the consequences of wielding this power.

Why has this caused you offence?
If I have got the wrong end of the Stick Mcjim i apologise..... after reading what you have said I have tried to read your original post without Emotion and I can tell you HONESTLY that I still dont get any Warm Fuzzies reading it the second time.... NZ is made up of KIWI's now. The race segregation stuff is dangerous.(not insinuating that you are segregating between Maori & other, just that McJim has some points in what he is saying).
NZ is made of Kiwis all run by one government representative of everyone & everyone has the same basic rights of a good health system, their own culture (which you are right in defending; it is what makes Maori who they are) education, security & safety etc. . This should be celebrated as a different culture...but there are certainly no requirements fo any one people to have special priveledges....

Shocking as this may Seem....I agree with what you say and have no problem accepting your thoughts because you have given it with forethought...but not the way the Mcjim posted the first one.....as it leaves to much to interpretation which as you can see can lead to misunderstanding as in this case..........

Why the fuck did he let the guy drive off? We all know there's no chance those fines will be paid.

If there's no warrant or rego, I think the police should be able tow the car and have it impounded.

The Scots receive more in government assistance than the pay in taxes. Which is hardly being "fucked over by the English".

Bit like the Maori if you think about it...

Yep, he was a Class A (some pun intended) tosser alright.

But the cop had a good point. The Maori licence, warrant, rego, etc. might be valid, but not on roads governed by the laws of New Zealand. The Maori have enough land they've been handed back that the Maori Parliament (whoever the fuck they are) could build its own roads on where they'd be perfectly legal. But the rantings of the prick in the rooted Commodore simply reflected the same delusion claptrap spouted by Maori sovereignty activists throughout the country.

I agree, but the sheer volume of unregistered and unwarranted vehicles out there would cause even more storage issues for the tow companies paying rental per square metre on cars with residual sale values of bugger all to recoup their costs.

Maybe a more liberal use of the court confiscation and destruction option would be in order. They now do this in Aussie for some serious offenders/defaulters. The 'boy racers' have to watch their pride and joy be crushed.

Now there you go, talking sense again! I do think that any unregistered and unwarranted car, should be immediately "siezed" and prevented from driving off, if it is over a certain period. Say two months? Or if it is obviously in an unsafe condition.

A single case of a lapsed WOF or rego may be due to a slip of the mind or the driver may be addressing a minor WOF issue that doesn't detract from immediate safety, so some leeway should be incorporated.

Other than that, I agree with McJim... (except for the blowjob bit...)
