I use a large "G" clamp, the the threaded foot of the clamp near the bead and on the tire.
Use a block of wood on the other side of your wheel against the rim and rest the other fixed foot on that.
Then do up the clamp, it will pop the bead and then turn over and do it again on the other side.
Just watch the thread or foot of the clamp does not rest up against the rim and damage it.
And some times I put a small bit of wood so I can get closer the bead with pressure and keep the foot away from the rim, if it is hard to pop the bead.
Feel the fear and do it anyway

I got it from Rosanna Cole at cycletorque.

this is the email I got from them

    Hi Lance,
We manufacture bead breakers and sell them. They are $110.00 each. We have one left at the moment. The freight is $9.00 in the north island and $22.00 in the south island. Rural delivery is an extra $5

    Cheers
    Rosanna

Bearing in mind that it was a little while ago so prices may have changed.

her email is info@cycletorque.co.nz but I highly recommend them.
