    R1 pipe mods

Just have taken a 2001, titanium exhaust and mucked with it.
I had a mission gutting it first as there were 3 seperate chambers in it (91db apparently).
It then took a fair amount of hammer-work with cold chisels before I chopped the whole thing in half. Then put a new 2"perf-pipe, straight through and swaged directly into a small tail pipe. I re-used the original fibreglass packing, assembled and blind rivetted the whole thing together.
The original pipe (also reworked but more refined) slipped straight off and my new beasty fitted.
Sounds, loud, a bit 'tractor-ish' down on idle but get up over 5k and she boogies. I'm sure there seems more HP up top and a tad sluggish from low rev's so thats what I expected there.
The sound is kinda what i imagined but different. Perhaps I should post some pics and a sound file?!

you'll want to get a dynojet kit sorted out to get that low-down power nice and smooth... I love the sound of those older R1's!

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

    Needles

What is the theory behind that (re-jetting), how does that work?
