Have a great time chick. I'm hoping to do South Island beginning of next year so I'll be interested in reading about your adventures. Take care and have a blast!

    I am so jealous...

    It will be fantastic.

Stay upright at all times while riding (I have observed that it helps for a more pleasurable experience).

It will be hot and that norwester in particular can dry you out very quickly. Make sure you stop often and replenish your liquids as well as those of your bike.

    I am so jealous.

    Me too!

I'm soo jealous I want to do the same, maybe late feb, early march. I'll have to compile your experience and Hitchers, and get a route plan from that. And ofcourse, meet up with as many South Is. KB'ers as possible.

Hey CSL have a good trip You will enjoy the scenery it is totally different in the South Island.
If you go over Takaka Hill just think F5 Dave will be doing this in his van, If the road dont put a smile on your face then thinking of Dave doing it in a van will.

Have a good trip CSL. Make sure you see plenty of the West Coast. And a trip over Athurs Pass is well worth it.
Experience......something you get just after you needed it

nah she's met us all before so she's got a good idea where we've been

The only dodgy Kber down here is Dangerous and he's ok for a Honda rider, you might have to watch Manuboy and his cross dressing but he can probably offer some fashion tips and advice about riding in womans clothes

All the sheep we've got down here came from originally from Tauranga they moved out when ajturbo moved in and they're still suffering post traumatic stress disorder from that event

One suggestion if the weather is good on the coast go all the way down Hasst, Wanaka ,Cardrona, Queenstown, ect ect and do Akaroa when goin up east coast. Mussel Inn 10 mins north Takaka a must, Blackball Hilton Cardrona Pub, Buller Gorge, Westport Graymouth early in Morning when mist cuming of the road, Lewis better than Arthurs, Both hot pools. Queenstown Milford Sound, Catlins.

Yes I do indeed....which is why I'll be sleeping in my riding gear with my helmet on.
