L-Plate Rider
Hi! I am thinking of getting a Yamaha Scorpio as a starter bike. At times I will need to bring along various things and would like to have some sort of either top box, saddle bags or tank bag. Does anyone know if there is anything that fits onto a Scorpio. Any other useful gear around? Do you suggest I get something else if I want to bring stuff with me eg a Ninja 250.

I agree with the demented one. Only hassle is you need to take the bag off when you leave the bike .
Looking at Jorja's Scorpio I cant see any reason a 33litre top box couldnt be fitted--that would take a helmet and gloves with some space to spare

the cheapest and easiest option is the tankbag, a magnetic based
tankbag will pop on and off in seconds and there is a wide range
available under $150,as for other options such as packrack or topbox
your local jamjar [yamaha lol] dealer should be able to tell you if
these are available to fit the scorpio.
personaly i think the scorpio would make a great beginner bike
utilising the bulletproof xt/tt 225 engine and very neutral design
chassis/steering/suspension arrangment should make
for a fun and easy bike to live with both around town
and out in the twisties

This is why I just wear a backpack. It needs to be a good one with a frame though.
People have said to me a backpack is heavy and inconvenient, but I got used to it very quickly, and I quite like it. It feels like I am on a trip somewhere while I have a backpack on.
I have never used a packrack or a topbox. I don't like the look of bike luggage.

Slightly off topic but,
Damb good little learners bike, only problem HRH has found with hers, is she now finds it slightly underpowered b4 shes even out of her restricted !
All good for 120 k revved out, but sitting behind traffic at 90-95 there aint no overtaking power, unless there's plenty of passing room ahead for a run at them !

Hey, theres another thread on here about fitting topboxes, I ent to the dealer that a got my bike from yesterday and he is getting a box and the mounting brackets up next week. I'm going to see how much it all costs and looks. Might just make up my own brackets.
As for the bike i must say that its cheap as to run to work on and gets me around sweet, although i don't have to do much open road riding.
