    KB ride etiquette

    KB ride etiquette.

Those of us that have been on a kb ride or two know how much fun they can be.
I myself go on as many as I can and absolutely love them, and have also met some people that I would like to think are life long friends on these rides.
BUT occasionally one of us has an incident (I myself have had a few) where some damage to ourselves/beloved bike occurs for whatever reason.

If you have binned you know how it feels, firstly because you have damaged your pride and joy and as we know it's not often cheap to fix, but also because you feel like you've fu**ed everybody’s day up.
But then there's that dreaded feeling of coming onto this forum when somebody's spilled or left a little cryptic message (usually worse).

This can really f*ck you off and is not needed at all!

In my opinion if you've had an "off" it's up to you to post (unless not possible, hospitalised etc.) after all who knows more about it.
And if they don't want to post then that should be respected.
There is often a good reason for it even if it's just until they get there head around it.

    Cheers
    Chris

PS This is not a rant, just something I feel needed to be said.

Oh - I started reading this cos I thought it referred to the faster riders saving a pint for the slower ones
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Yeah, and I thought it would say some stuff about how to behave when on a ride. Then I could post some smart-arse stuff poking fun at it, and drawing attention to the things that usually happen.

Rule number 1: Try to keep up, otherwise you'll get teased mercilessly.
Rule number 2: Wheelies are invariably compulsory.
Rule number 3: If you can't keep up, or get it up (see previous rules) try to crash in a spectacular fashion, so you can at least achieve some infamy that way.
    etc. etc.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Chris clearly theres a hidden meaning behind your words.
if I bin heck I aint proud of it but to err is human after all.
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?

And what about weaving heavily coming into corners whilst in the middle of the pack and yelling 'WAAAHOOOO' all at the same time ??

    What about it?

    Oh whoops!
This is 6Chris6's thread. I just broke list etiquette. He should answer your query.

But (BUT!) if I were to answer that, I'd say that during the lunchtime bullshit session, you could just claim you were exuberantly warming up your tyres and your lungs during the warmup lap, just like you used to do when you were a professional road racer.
    ... and that's what I think.

Jokes aside, Chris has got a good point. I am one of thoes who belives in the same thing as Chris does. It is not cool to blab about someone's misfortune without their permission.

We're not moving onto golf now are we?? btw I agree that with you that the guilty party needs to be completely forthcoming in order to involve/enlighten the other members & disappoint/frustrate them by stopping rumours & gossip in their tracks

Otherwise it's just not cricket (keeping with the sports theme). :cool2:

(That's prolly a shaven-headed cricketer wearing Oakleys, as they all seem to do now.)

Seriously (or at least trying to put up a vague pretence of seriousness), Chris and that other one have a good point.

    Someone blabbed
Ok now we're clear on that one.

seriously --um chris (TS) I guess the lesson here is keep quiet about it.
I TOTALLY empathise with ya not wanting people to know but if ya want it kept secret best ya tell noone.
Case in point was my bin --a KB er saw the aftermath of my bin and probably would have posted about it even if I diddn't.
Ohh and for other kbers --wasn't me that blabbed
