    Rego for my Diesel Hiace in WA is just over $500/yr. The bike is about $200 I think. At least change of ownership is cheap in NZ - in WA they hit you with a "stamp duty" of 2.75% of the cost of the vehicle .....

    my mate who lives in oz reckons that his four cars, an impala,rx2 and two mitsi galants cost him $2k a year to register, and the bigger the cc the more ya pay.

    il pay the $250 if i have to, but il put the bike on rego hold for 3 months of the year to get a little back at a time.

    I havnt been stopped by the cops in 5 years so it continues to pay off!! the trick is not to be greedy and for a 6 month stretch.
