    SC got stoned

Arrived at Caltex Taka to meet XJ/FROSTY and go for a ride over the Hill.
All took off up the hill at a fair pace (lots of holiday traffic around) stopped at the top for a chat then headed to Martinborough for a coffee and bite.
After sufficient refreshments we all convoyed out the back of Martinborough towards Gladstone and stopped at the turnoff to the Gladstone Hill climb road.......a bunch of us waited for the others to turn up but enough time went by to realise that something must have happened to one of our crew. So I waited while a search was performed.....they came back and reported that StoneChucker had had his radiator holed and turned back to Martinborough.......knowing that I have a trailer and he is my neighbour I duly turned back to help my fellow KBer.
Caught up with SC who was in good company with Lisa & Cathy (Cathy's bike was also in the wars...broken clutch cable) (bungbung was off seeking a replacement).....I rode home, hooked up my trailer, shot back over the hill, loaded SC's leaking steed and delivered it home.
Good to meet XJ/FROSTY and thanks to jimbo600, Deano, celticno6, Hayden, Velox, Paul in NZ and the others for a great ride today.....pity I couldn't do all of the ride with you....another day

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

Still waiting to hear the Chucker's version of this strangely ironic tale...

Ouch! Remember we spoke about radiator guards when I saw you at top of Rimutakas/Martinborough last week? I was on the 900 Hornet with my son (Gunner) on the SV650S. I think you were keen on doing a rad guard for your SV1000S, did StoneChucker's rad have any protection?
    pretentious moi?

Something like this? I wondered if this guy's was a bit restrictive of air flow.

The stock one on my VFR is totally unobtrusive and you hardly notice it has one.

The mind is already ticking over with a "backyard...good on ya mate...not too shabby for a country boy" rad guard.
Going to make a few phone calls to secure the required materials.....looks like a day in the garage creating......hmmm....a patent product perhapse.

StoneChucker's radiator had no protection....I heard him muttering about adding one to the growing list of mods to perform.
