It does not bother me - in fact I look forward to the adverts

some hopefull examples.....

Cycle treads - 15% off a pair of tyres for KB members

Asian girls require Kiwi homestays...............

Perhaps a yearly subscription to KB to not see the advertising could work?

I'll wait to see what sort of adverts go up, but if they get too annoying then I'm sure I wouldnt be the only one willing to fess up with some cash.

Don't limit yourself to motorcycle related advertising. I'd love to see LTNZ banners like you see on Trademe. Wouldn't it be awesome knowing they're funding this site?

I really ought to start making donations. With the amount of time I spend on here I'm a right prick for not doing so. Haven't got any money for myself as it is though...

I feel the same way. Don't have two cents to rub together right now, but usually I can flick a tenner on something without care, and KB is worth it.

Has to be voluntary though.

Re money Ash - fair enough that you want to do the Advertising stint, dont blame you in the least.... on another $ note, does the calendar help you enough to validate the effort?

Heaps of us already push a barrow in the sig line anyway.
Publish the rate card and specs and I have several customers who'll be in.

You also have the option of accepting or declining the placements. If it's invasive or OTT - just decline.
Informative/entertaining - bung it on.

I'd have no objections if it got the mods a carton either.

Have normal advertisements, then members can also become an "Outstanding Member" or something astonishing like that, different coloured names, and to be able to not view the advertisements (a choice to turn them on or off). That would bring in the bucks both ways mate.

just to let you know the Ads will not be over the top in your face pop ups etc,
they will be subtle, whilst giving advertisers their moneys worth.

after years of Spank funding this on his own accord,( with help from people with donations)
it is time for KB to stand on its own two feet.

please support it, any constructive criticism will be appreciated

Every big forum I'm a member of has advertising banners on them. Just a fact of life, someone has to pay the bills and you actually find some pretty good deals on some.

Especially the stunt sites.

if everybody was to donate $10

that would be a nice sum of money, with 10,000 members thats $100K , $10 is not a lot to ask IMHO
