In light of the 'associations' thread I reckon it would only be appropriate if you were to approach google's image search and ask for a donation since we have supported it so immensely.

Annual subs won't work to well, you might get 50% of the members that regularly visit paying up but it would probably stop most new members getting involved.

Never said anything about annual subs, And I doubt you would get 10 or 5 percent paying up never mind 50%, and locking out non-payers would kill the site over night.

Many sites have a user level designated as a contributor( a set amount of cash, 100 percent voluntary), You don't generally get anything more then a non-contributor, (though one site I frequent gets special deals from its advertisers that are only available to contributing members, works well) It just means a system is in place that may help to get a worthwhile amount of revenue.

Anyway, Its just an idea, I no longer have the advertising blocked.....But I don't generally click on advertising anyway. Though I have visited the Quasimoto site more times in the last week then in my entire life.

I was apprehensive about this whole ad thing when I first read about it here. Would it bog down my dialup, would it annoy me with popups etc, would my computer catch a bug from an inadvertent link?

Pleased to see that I had nothing to worry about. The ads at the top of the page are just as you promised, SpankMe: motorcycle - related and not in your face. Well done! Hope the income helps you to keep kb chugging along.

The whole thing seems to be going well. Big thanks to our ad man GIXser for organizing everything. Also nice work Big Dave for producing the banner ads.

If in 6 months or so we continue to get regular advertising revenue, then I can look at upgrading the server.

That's the spirit. They are soooo invasive too.

Nothing much has changed without the ad-blocker either.
There are just animated links to people who are supporting the site.
