    Unhappy Advertising on KB

    Advertising on Kiwi Biker

Kiwi Biker just continues to grow and it wont be long until I need to upgrade the server I rent to a more powerful one again to cope with the increasing members. With the cost of running the site becoming more than I can afford even with the help of donations, I am going to have to do what I always said I never would, and start accepting advertising for the site. All ads will be local and motorcycle related.

All quires about advertising on Kiwi Biker should go to our new site ad man GIXser or myself (spankme@kiwibiker.co.nz).

Bike shop members will still be able to post in the Shop Sales, Info & Discounts forum.

Gotta do what you gotta do, Spank. And if the ads are actually motorcycle-related, I'm sure there will be no hassle whatsoever.

The day KB starts showing banner ads for animated MSN smileys and spawning pop-unders for 'crush calculators', though, is the day I think you'd do better to look seriously at mandatory member subscriptions.

What about VOLUNTARY member subscriptions ? I'd pay my yearly 30bux if you gave me a different coloured membership name or something.. Subscribers/contributors don't get any more rights or priveleges, just the status of it.

But really spankme, if you need money you should speak up and just say so "right I need ten bucks from each of you this week plz - heres my account number, username as payment details kthx" You will find at least 50% of us willing and capable of passen over ten bucks.

For those of us who are genuinely broke-ass, maybe you can swing it next week, or next month...

Do we need a poll on this ?

"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."
