    f$%king pop ups

Looks like I might of had a virus on my computer. The antivirus software didn't pick anything up, but I couldn't get on some sites and the windows auto updates turned off and wouldn't turn on. I downloaded windows defender, and ad-aware then updated them. Run the both and they picked up problems and got rid of them. I can now get on the internet sites it wouldn't let me before, and the auto update now turns on.

Only prob now is I can't get rid of the bloody pop ups I've now got. Anyone got any ideas how to get rid of them?

Oh also when I press ctrl alt del, it says "task master has been disabled by administartor", this can't be good.

If you're on a computer with multiple users then there is always an administrator account, just find out how to log into that account and give it a look. As for the popups, you can't do much about them, do they happen on every single website? Or just a few that you go on? Always good to download a popup blocker off download.com

Also, I recommend for you (and many others) to download a program called "C Cleaner", this is an excellent program which cleans up about 800mb+ worth of unused items on the first clean, I have tried this on three different computers with no hassles at all. If your a person that likes to delete cookies, history, and other internet related files, this does them all in a click of a button.

What stclingin said with regard to deleting yr cookies history and temp files, you can delete them manually by opening int. expl., tools , int options, del cookies etc , delete all ! Cleans all ya history, cookies, temp files etc !
You should also have a pop up blocker which obviously aint turned on, open int expl. tools, int options, privacy, turn on pop up blocker ! This will also stop the odd file ya DO want to open, but easy enough to do so, the yellow line at the top when it blocks it, is where you allow this one or two to open !

Here is avg free spyware remover which i use as well as adaware and sometimes pick up a few the adaware miss ! This is not any good to ya if ya have norton (then i dont think adaware will run with norton iether) I use the 3 avg free spyware, the avg free antivirus and adaware free spyware ! Touch wood i aint had a problem !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Haha Your other user likes ninjas huh ? Or you been googling ninjas , sounds like ya still have a bit of spyware floating around in there ! Run the cc cleaner or delete cookies manually then keep running all yr spyware cleaners , give avg spycleaner a go too (not too sure if it will run alongside defender but worth a crack) i know what its like and if ya don't get on top of em they gonna drive ya to putting a fist through ya screen !
On another note, Have ya had a look at the space you have left on yr pc, If the other user is young i bet its getting full ? Open my computor, and just hold the curser over C drive and it will tell you how much total and how much free space you have ! if you have a D drive as well, check both !
C drive runs your pc so the more space the better there ! If ya have a D drive Thats where you should store files like photos and vids and (kids games)

Sounds more like a malware spy, than a space issue but a lack of space on C will slow yr pc down like ya wouldn't believe, as do the spyware !

Its a bloody minefield out there !
    Good luck

Don't use your PC for anything important if you suspect malware on it. Anything you use with a password will be sent upstairs and logged before you can blink. Nasty!

Sounds like you have some rather nasty spyware. Its always safest to wipe and reload in these cases, as trying to remove that sort of thing by hand can be very fiddly (editing the registry, manually unloading dll's with regsvr, etc). You'd be amazed at the places malware/spyware hides these days.

OK, instead of the random guessing witnessed above...

Download HijackThis. Save it to your hard drive somewhere then run it. Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. After a couple of seconds, the log file will open in Notepad. Save it, then post it on here. The log file will reveal what's installed on your machine and what's attached itself to the system and various system components. Once you've posted the log file on here, I can tell you what you need to get rid of.
