Can anyone tell me what the valve clearances are and if it's lock nut and screw or shim before I tear the cover off and guess next time I can convince him I know what I'm talking about?

There are parts of the manual on the net, look on the 400greybike forums (google them), in the gsxr400 area theres a thread with the various manuals they've got, should be there
