    False neutral

Good night people cheers for all the info !! Big thanks to Frosty and the team !! I was meaning to ask about what causes false neutral gears ? I rode 1300k last week and had no problems but it still seems to happen now & again.

Is it possible to only put it half in gear so when you release the clutch it jumps out of gear ? Say going from 3rd to 4th should it jump back into 3rd and not neutral ?

Cheers guys i'll have a looky tomorrow.. The gear lever is way to high Ive been meaning to adjust it.. While looking at mathornets bike he has an extra piece of rubber in the gear linkage which im missing, mine has heaps of side to side movement..

    Great night tonight falks.

Was really good to be reminded some of the road theory , and brush up on old things we've forgotten.

big Ups for Frosty and Mark for the night.

P.s. Sly_guy , rolling burnouts in the mud are only cool to the people on the side of your bike , and not to the ones behind your bike

thanks for hosting tonight's meet, Frosty and Georgia. always appreciate Mark's and Richard's input. and much obliged to those who had something to add. one never stops learning, eh. yup, the ride home in the rain to Devonport was actually quite pleasant, once i figured out how to get onto the motorway. goodnight everyone. We sensed a disturbance in the force and ducked for cover Trace!
At least you're getting your baby out of the garage now

And Pete, the hornet gearboxes seem to be a little prone to false neutrals. My lil ol' hornet found one between 5th and 6th sometimes, usually when i was being lazy with my shifting. Make sure your lever is adjusted correctly (you remember how?) and use positive pressure when changing gears and you should be fine. An oil change may well help too

Cheers for having us Frosty, and cheers for the lesson Mark. Hope everyone learned something that'll help kee you upright round town!
