I got a gsxr 05 600 with a bald rear. Front one is ok but I figure I might as well do both and upgrade from stock tires. I only do road riding but wana get on to the track soon. How much does it matter what tire I get and is more expensive better?

just choose your favouite brand of tires, be it michelin, bridgestone, pirelli etc and get there sport rubber.
I have gone thru 3-4 of sets of Pilot Powers on my k4 gsxr 600.
Usual pick up a set for $500-$550
