Good vibrations there ROBIN...

MV wasted a golden opportunity to break the 1:1 power to weight ratio with this bike.
190hp on 193kg ...so close but no prize...again
All they had to do was lose a few kilograms, not a big ask with 193kg to start with. Surely after about 5 or 6 years revamping the same base model they could shave a few pounds off! The MVs were a bit too heavy in 2004 but now are positively obese next to the others fresh out of Jenny Craig school. To ignore such an obvious "needs improvement" tag four years later would see people sacked at other firms.
And the dash layout is well overdue for a revamp.
Still a looker though.

Thats the smell of desire my lady..

Still a beautiful bike fo' sho'
But you would've though they'd revise the look by now, bar another coat of paint. At least to keep the previous bikes looking more exclusive.
Just wait til you ride one..........and MD...one of, if not The best dash around. That hp figure will be pretty accurate too seeing it's the 200 hp engine. I could tell you the rev ceiling but I won't
There is a rumour that HD has purchased MV. That will provide the emphasis for change. Don't know about chrome on MV tho
Hey don't get me wrong, I like them.. a lot. Had a fair few rides on MVs.
I just find it disappointing that they have not taken the time to address, what to me seem like simple improvements, after so many years.

Looking at those wheels I'd be worried a good whack of throttle would snap the rear rim off at the hubAll they had to do was lose a few kilograms
HD purchasing MV - hmm lets hope they are a silent partner
In space, no one can smell your fart.
Which way round is that Big D? I think the Americans in general (bikes and cars), the finish is extremely good, but in my own experience the MVs are at the top as well. Yes there are several rumours, the reality will be told shortly. And to answer the weight question, MV are capable of losing quite a bit more weight from stock, eg. my Tamburini is 21kg down on the standard 1000. By the way Big D, if your in Chch, come ride some of my toys, most are Italian tho, excet for the oldies, they're It. and Jap.
They both do some pretty fine work... if they keep doing what they're good at, whilst sharing some tech knowledge, it'll be one happy family that's for sure
