Hey no probs with the list - I've you tubed magoo and max recently - just that those three fictional characters didn't exist at all - even in fiction.

Yet I was sure I'd heard the Bates gag with my own ears. not so.

Heroes, to me, are the people that put aside their own needs and desires to do what's best for others. They say there is no greater love than to give one's life for another. I'm humbled by these people....

Martybabe, your mom and my hubby's would have been best mates. We lost her to breast cancer 2 years ago, after a 7 years battle that she fought with tooth, nails and a feisty attitude rivaled by few...

She was closer to me than my own mother (no disrespect to my birth mom of course), and I miss her keenly all the time. She is my hero for showing me that no matter how sickly she got, she could still hold her family of six together with an iron hand...she was the gel that held it all in place and often, I regret deeply the fact she passed away before Neil and I's wedding.

She did however give us her blessing shortly before passing on, and I am thankful for that.

Respect to all who have to fight against the dark, against any debilitating illnesses, whether they be young like Elle or of elder years.

Here here, we all have trials to endure, it makes us the people we are but sometimes, sometimes, it seems so bloody unfair, especially where the young and innocent are involved.

On a lighter note, some fellas that helped me through my yoof.

Cheers martybabe and Ynot slow for your kind thoughs

Ynot, like you Im ever so lucky to have a wonderful woman at my side who is a great support to me and my elderly father.

We got together 6 years ago as Jo was getting to terms with loosing her oldest sister at just 36 years old, she told me sometime later that she hoped she could return the support sometime, I never dreamed it would be like this..

Although Jo is somewhat younger than me she is an old head on young shoulders.............thanks Hun

My mother springs to mind first for me to,put up with years of abuse from the old man then when she left him had to endure years of verbal abuse from a young brainwashed selfish piece of shit (that would be me) blaming her for walking away.Best day of my life was asking her to forgive my crap, and her giving me a hug.....then the waterworks startedFrom the age of 16 i ignored any form of contact from her for 12 years,a great waste and will admit i fuss over her no end to try in vain to make it up to her.

Man I can relate to that, son number two and his mother. As with you, things are fine now thank heaven. What a crazy time that was. Big ups 98, you only get one mom and they are the best forgiverers in the world.

Thank god I never had to deal with violent parents, dads father was belted as a kid,he should have done the same to his kids, when they were naughty their mum sent them to see their dad for punishment,he usually hit the bench with the strap, never hit his kids or us grandkids, truly amazing guy, most situations have an abused dad doing same to his kids.

Had a mate who saw Once were warriors, afterwards these little kids were saying just like home eh bro and shit like that laughing, mate turned and told the little fuckers to grow up,they told him to piss off whitey(he is 50/50)and proud of his nanas heritage. He said why don't ya act tough to your old man when he hits your mum and walked away. This dick had a go and came off second best, mate was black belt in taikwandoo.
