Cage handbrake light

hopefully no one minds a car question in rant & rave..

I have a 91 pulsar with the handbrake light on the dash permanently stuck on. Im pretty sure the handbrake is otherwise ok, as it drives fine and the handbrake operates as per normal.

Does anyone know if there is a sensor/swith by the actual handbrake, in the handbrake line somewhere, or by/in the backbrakes?

Have tools.. can dismantle things , just not sure where to start looking (or is that just an excuse on a lazy weekend.. maybe I should just start pulling things apart) Thanks for any advice

Check the brake fluid level, They use the same light for both fluid & handbrake.

Almost certainly brake fluid level or some cars have brake pad wear indicators that will illuminate the light.

i had a corona that i spent ages trying on to figure out why the light was on.

fluid level was low......

there is a indicator switch at the handle end aswell

Thanks for the advice guys; it was the fluid, rather then the handbrake.
