With that chinese girl kidnapped there will be some chinese guy on tv saying the police are doign ashit job protecting asain people in new zealnd by not bodyguarding them 24/7 and how its all our fault

The other time they said they will call in the Triads to start protecting them,
With this latest case will we see Triads vs Killer Beez battle, one gang shooting while the other trying to fight them with crowbars and baseball bats?

Will the Triads move in on our Gangs turf?
Who will you support, the asain invasion or our local gangs?
Just think whos suffering next time you buy P, will you buy kiwi made???

Will asains businesse be less picked on when the Triads roll into town?

Anyone who says 'its' the cops' fault needs to look in the mirror; 'it's' a social problem that needs to be tackled head on and especially with our youth. Baby-sitting after our kids isn't the job of the police.

So, what is 'it'? 'It' can be many things; tagging, theft, auto crime, street/domestic violence. It's all about attitude, our attitude to each other, attitude to property (public and private) and often frustration. There's low pay, poor diet and believe it or not, a lack of exercise to consider.

Not all people who are broke and live in a lower socio-economic environment are trouble makers just the same as people from the higher brackets are not always well behaved. Poor folk can have a good attitude, rich folk can have a bad attitude. Some gang members are broke, some are not. Some frustration can come from being broke but it's no excuse. Equally, boredom can come from a wealthy background.

I would imagine that triads are already on 'our' gang's turf and either working with them or are running things themselves. I would be willing to bet that their MO would be far nastier than anything the local boofheads could dish up, as well as far more secretive and much better organised. From that you can be read that triads are far more dangerous.

Fine; let them battle it out but where? Your back yard? Certainly not mine thanks.

The Asians are here in droves and with them came their own culture, gang shite included. many will argue that they have brought much wealth, they work hard and so on. To a degree that's true but there will always be an unsavoury element in any group and the Asian group does appear to be a fairly large one, so it stands to reason that Asian gang members are not only here, they are active. Asians are nothing special, they are entitled to the same level of protection we all get, which in reality is not a lot but that's not the cop's fault, it's fact of life.

All we can do is our best, just like the cops. I still advise my kids on how to conduct themselves and as teenagers they aren't ripping off cars, tagging walls, kidnapping toddlers or shooting shopkeepers. I'm willing to bet they never will and their upbringing didn't happen by itself or, for that matter, with the aid of a benefit.

Our whole social fabric needs a good looking into if you ask me.

LOL hell no ... the triads will focus on the Chinese business cause 95% of Chinese immigrants to New Zealand still have family at home in China the triads can use as leverage because they have greater power/influence there.

For the record Triads are definitely a Chinese issue and and as such focus there "dealings" within the Chinese community. This does not mean they protect that community, but most likely use standover tactics to extort $$$ for "protection". My wife (Japanese) ran a resturant in Christchurch for some time, she was never approached by the Triads, however the Chinese store next door was, and had to pay a monthly fee to not have their store trashed.
