Excuse my ignorance but what is Bucket Racing, where is it done? and what type of bike is used? Sorry if its a dumb question.

not iggorant at all bro-go to the racing forum and Theres a thread on setting up a bucket to race.
Buckets loosely defined ar 50cc-140cc 4 stroke and 50cc-125cc 2 stroke bikes -Usually raced on go cart tracks. ya could have an old trail bike xl125 or a street majic.
The rules are pretty loose but If ya want specifics I can pull out my MNZ rule book for ya.

Don't have too much time to blab about it, but if you have a look at my members page you'll see a good image of one.Originally Posted by Judderbar

lots of shit internally, fork brace, swinging arm braced, everyfeckin' thing is braced to stop me getting bucked off thru turn 1 at the Island at 100 and something k's.
I think Bucket came from Bucket of Shit, but someone else can give you more details about the NZ version of it... there's a few blokes online doing it here.
Yes my boss does bucket racing. he says it's a hell a lot of fun because it's like a dirtbike you fall of and just fire the bike up again and keep going!

Those H100s bring back memories - used to ride one thru london - it was great on the M25 as you could pick it up and run thru the traffic jams if you got stuck. My brothers boss used to make him ride it as punishment for munting the shop bikes.
Wouldnt have picked it for a bucket racer tho.
Buckets over seas are sadly going west as mini-moto and pocket bikes take over. In the last year here I've started to see entry level minis being sold here - but still havnt seen anyone with an F1 mini-moto yet.
I still like buckets as some of them would give a rat bike a run for its money. (and for those that dont know about rat bikes http://www.ratbike.org/ - there is an awsome wing pic there)

So youre aucklandish way? (Hunua?)
Check out the AMCC website click here & go Mt Wgtn & see some races, guys there are real helpful.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
I would love someone to get a track organised here in Gisborne for bucket racing, it would be awesome, and from what I gather the most affordable motor sport there is.
Kickaha has a gn125 modded to 140 that he races down in chch. Soon i'll have a cb125t to race in buckets aswell. really fun class and they aren't as slow as you think. some really good riders in there aswell.

I warn you people, I will be posting a "help me choose a bucket" thread in the next few months![]()
It has to be able to wheelie though!
hmmmmm, not yet for me. Im 2 slow at the mo.

At least I can hold people up on a "track" too. And, go to track days with a shit-mobile instead of my main bike.
Had a look through all of the bikes for sale on trade-me, and nothing! Might have to buy one when it comes up, and just shuffle around finances.
Does it matter what year bike it is? Would a 1970 125 2 stroke be as competitive as a 1990 of the same type, for example?
I think this has been covered before. If TS's work CT110(?) can be wheelied, anything can.Originally Posted by StoneChucker
