Maniacal GSXR rider has arrived! (munterk6)

Gidday people! Im an ol bugger, 50 this year but still feel about 30ish when I get on board the Gixer thou, amazing how bikes keep ya young lol
Ive been riding since I was 12, started out in trail riding, then competition motocross until I discovered girls had stuff I wanted, then had kids and a divorce followed shortly after that!
Anyway, at 30 years I rediscovered bikes, road bikes to be precise.
Met a guy who I hold directly responsible for turning me onto Suzukis and in particular the GSX-R 1100 models. He told me to get off that big heavy GPZ900 Kawa and ride his GSXR 1100G, we were in the middle off the Lewis Pass at the time. What a revelation it was!!! Ive had a lot of different bikes but the Gixer has a special charm and arrogance that I found irresistable.
I bought a new GSX-R1000K6 in Dec 06 from Wellington Motorcycles and rode it home to ChCh in the rain(yep, had to rain didnt it lol).
Ive done 17000kms on it now and its NEVER let me down or done anything to fuck me up!
Ive been to a hell of a lot of Bike Rallies over the last 15 years and count them as a great way to see the country and to meet a great bunch of people.
Im an Automotive Tech by Trade, and Im now engaged to a fantastic lady, took a lot of finding after 20 years of lookin!
Ive finally bought a house a year ago and life is pretty damn good now, got real good mates and Im pretty satisfied with my lot.
I was made a Grandad last year( a boy to my youngest girl Holly who lives in Franz) and even that doesnt phase me with the age thing!!
Sooooooo......its great to meet you all, I reckon bikers are the best people on the planet

Don't worry guys I turned 50 a couple of years ago and it didn't hurt a bit(apart from the 2 day hangover)I think you are only as old as the bikes you ride.
Welcome mate and it's real good to hear of a man who actually enjoys where he's at in life.
Never too old to Rock n Roll.

50's not old! I'm 66 and since I started riding less than 3 years ago I feel like a sixteen year old!

Unfortunately she doesn't feel the same way about me!

Ah a nice story to warm the cockles of the heart! - KB needs more happy bikers and less moaners, so welcome.

50 is actually the optimum age for Formula 3 racing. You'll need an sv however. Trades welcome...

She probably thinks, "He's older than my DAD!!!" Trouble is, these days when I see a pretty young thing, I think, "My baby daughter is older than she is! They seem just children these days! I'd probably be more interested in her mother!

Oh, by the way, munterk6, welcome!
