yip - what a wikid concert DVD it is - thats the one at Rod Labor arena right?
The Joe Walsh songs were real cool too and the trumpeted version of Hotel California has almost pipped the Hell Freezes Over version(almost).
Yep,one of the really pissed off things the ex wife did was not attend the nzconcert in 1996?when they toured with Melissa Etheridge,we were going then SHE decided we couldn't afford it,probably true, but once in a life time.
Funny thing was the month before we went to a major stockcar event and I wouldn't have minded missing it to see the band.
Good thing is my kids agree that rap music has a silent c in it.
Joe Walshs' voice doesn't seem to change from studio to live especially Rocky mountain way.

ha ha great concert, I took me mum to it at Western Springs mid/late 90's, weirdest concert I have ever been too.........60,000 people, all that drive & energy you get from that many people together but the music was so laid back, massive cheers & whistles etc in between each song then back to mellow again lol. Strangely good
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
They appeal to so many people, and the NZ concert was the rebirth of the group, egos etc starting to mellow.Mates who went said it was ideal as Frey,Henley,Walsh played their own stuff and they brought it together well as a group too.

Good stuff alright! Got that disc & Hell freezes over - awesome live! My olds went to see them in Dublin a while ago and really loved the show.
Bugger..I went to the ChCh concert... was pissing down.. but they still gave an awesome performance!!!
Killed 2 birds for me.. I'm a HUUUUUUUGE Melissa Etheridge fan also.. but coz of the rain they were late setting everything up & she only sang 2 - 3? (from memory..) songs.. gutted..![]()
GET ON
SIT DOWN
SHUT UP
HANG ON
We once had stones thrown at our windows by a mad neighbour for playing When Hell Freezes Over a bit too loud on surround one night! Apparently she was trying to get her kids to bed (ages 4 and breastfed) and they could not get to sleep. One has to ask why her kids were still up at nearly midnight actually. Ooops.
I love Joe Walsh!!!
Have you seen the Crossroads Guitar Festival from 2004? (there was another in 2007 ) In 2004 Joe Walsh was on doing Funk 49 and Rocky Mountain Way, plus appearances by a whole bunch of other guitar greats. I haven't seen the 2007 concert on sale anywhere yet

it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

What bloody greta lineups of performers.
Listened to the dvd of 50 years of stratocaster, has Joe Walsh as well as many others, great guitar legends giving it all to the iconic guitar.
