my drinking team has a racing problem
Mrs MacD and I had a good day too, although definitely need to re-cover the seat with anti-slide vinyl!
Here's some pics.![]()
Great ride, hope my nana pace didnt slow to many peeps up.
The art of being wise is knowing what to overlook.
Once again another great KB ride at a slower pace. Although I was rather confused not being tailend charlie for a change. We had a great tiki tour through Pukekohe from Zapf who did tell us he had looked the map before the ride(YEAH RIGHT!) And where the heck was that Crashe on the Virago....thought the crusier could go as fast as the front runners....
And one has to why we were parked on the roadside on a curve bend...well KBers to the rescue of an unkown biker on a Aprilla (very nice it was too)going the other way with a flat tyre. Geez we a nice bunch aint we![]()
Neat to meet some new faces but dont ask me to quote who was there cos I have memory of and old fart. Best not tell Dave the SH22 is a pretty cool ride :spudwave:
See yas next time

I have just gotten home from my longer stay in Hamilton....
Yep I thought that I was doing rather well being up front today....
Twas a very nice change... well occassionally I was at the tail end...lol...
Trip home was fun.... not much traffic out but I had to stop and put on my wet weather pants just out of Mercer... the heavens opened up and let rip.... man that was aweful heavy rain.... lasted about 10 minutes... and then fined up...
Hit the southern motorway... going along in my own world.... so to speak, and I looked down to check the speed again... as I always do.... and buggar me the cable had broken... so I had no idea what speed I was doing from this point on and the speedo wasnt turning over....
So help will be needed here on this... just browsing through my manual.... and I have found some stuff about it... ... Has anyone repaired a speedo before or am I better to get it done at the shop????
It was also nice to meet some other KBers... and even Quasi managed to find us... out in the country...

Why do you want anti slip on the RF? its no scratcher but you can still hang off a bit and switch? is yours a full power? mines a Canadian muted job but still humps.
See your at SOC their moderators are a bit Pom-puss!

Don't ride faster then your guardian angel can fly
The pillion finds she slides forward too easily, resulting in a close encounter with the tank for me!Originally Posted by Redstar
Mine's supposedly a full power model, but I've never worked out an easy way to confirm that (I think its an Aussie spec model). I'm quite happy with the way it gets along and it handles two-up easily.
Speaking of SOC, if you do take your tank off watch out for the rubber mounts. I spent a while fishing mine out from the inner recesses of the bike last time I took my tank off!![]()
yes was awesome , good feed at KFC Huntly nice trip home i had a ball to spparky, we will have to start our own 250 road trip , so any 250 riders interested lets get together and do it , some good lil ventures out there and would be nice to get together and bash ideas around, drink coffee have a feed and a lot of fun
oh so the BALLAST is crashing into your back? I cant get my Ballast to go further than the Dairy![]()
well you could go for an Orlins King and Queen seat but you will lose the switch and have to give up Body steering for ever... or get a lighter ballast unit.. dont tell Mrs D.. I never said that! why cant Ballast hang on to the Sissy bar?![]()

was a good ride and it was good to meet all those there. Sorry Swanman, I thought we did waited for a while. will make sure we waited next time.
As I arrive at AB I was amazed at the turn out, all and all 14 bikes, big and small. We left AB and took the back way to Ridge road, as we when thru Razor back rd I found out how small and twisted that road is. Following my not so good attempt at putting us on 22, Gazzar got us going in the right directionthanks. Everyone setteled onto a good speed thru 22 and not pushing it too hard. We lost chris and 750Y as the ZX6 has problem consuming fuel then pretty much all the way to BP with a few stops. Along the way we ran into another group all on aprillia's and attached is some photos of the ermmm NICE bikes. Complete with carbon fiber and ram bug intake scoop :P
Then Quasi nicely lead us to the Hog in Hamilton for lunch as the usual cafe was closed, and we wern't all going to fit into BP.
After some nice yummy and filling nachos it was off back to BP for a top up for our smaller tanked bikes and then taking the back way thru the coal fields and 22 back to Pokei, thanks to Devus for reminding me where those turn off and roads were. Along the back road to Mercer, there is amazingly a police check point, and most of us got a once over for rego / wof / even breath tested.... ($@#$%@$%) that was the most unexpected place to expect a check point.
All and all a good ride, except it has highlighted to me again how much work the front suspension on the SV650 needs, specially when you are using your arms as additional dampening due to the bumpy road on 22, u get very tired quickly. as soon as I get home I had a quick nap... but all good. See u guys again hopefully on a less bumpy ride next time.
... and I believe Wonko might have some nice action shots of us![]()
