The problem though, is that I dont accept the attitude of "oh just consider how tough it is being a bus driver and having to deal with joe public" as an excuse to endanger me and my family on the roads. Sorry, doesnt cut it. There are many lines of work where you have to deal with real pricks (and pressure) without losing your cool.

As a bus driver you're in a position of immense responsibility, so cant use the excuse that you're just the same as any other road user. You've got many lives in your hands -
Yes yes yes, I know that you shouldn't say consider it as a bus driver, but unless you do the job, (which I have and still do on occasions), then I have had the opportunity to see things from both perspectives.

Drivers on roads all over the world, are generally inconsiderate nowadays, everyone is in a rush, and by trying to get there quicker, normal road users endanger the lives of pedestirans and other road users far more than the average bus driver.

I have worked with knobs who are idiots behind the wheel of a bus, but believe me they are so in the minority.

One of the bus drivers in dunedin dresses up as santa every year, theres another geezer who decorates the inside of his bus, so it looks like a christmas tree, I used to wear my santa hat at christmas, and was always bright breezy and cheery to the customers, I have had people singa long to myh CD's I play, and have belted out a solo Guns and Roses "Sweet Child of Mine" to a bunch of cheesed of cleaners from a hotel to try and make them happier on thier trip home..............and like I said by my signature, smile a smile and watch it come back at you, is my whole outlook on life.

I am a cop on a 5 year career break in this country, so get to deal with the shit of society and I love it to be honest, to try and sort them out and understand why they do what they do and try and make a difference to their thought process, by introducing them to the fear of crime that they have installed into their victims, is a rare talent amongst us cops.

I for one, care about eveyone I run into in this life of mine, and every job I do I do to the best of my ability.

Since living over here from NZ, I now have learnt even more so to take a balanced veiew point, which is what this thread is all about.

In the words of Paul McCartney and that twat Michael Jackson ..... "There is good and bad In Everyone", sums it all up, you have to take the rough with the smooth..............................and that includes bus drivers.........Ta Daaaa..........

3 more days in the land of blighty (UK) and then I am back to NZ, and I must say to New Zeleand as a country........... wow have I missed your scenery, and calmness and serentiy you install in me every time I look at the wonders you of your beauty...............and to my biker friends........fuck, I know that its not biker rally season, but I am so far away from you dudes and dudess's that I know so well, I MISS YOU ALL.

Coi 4 now, from the gushy as mush stuff at the moment...........woodybee x
