    Help!!

Hey, I have a CBR250 MC22. I'm just having a big clean up of it, and after taking off the aircleaner box I found this little thing. I have no idea of how to describe it. When I took it apart there was a weird orange paper type of a thing that had been destroyed within it, it's sort of a very small air cleaner.

Here's some pictures. Can you tell me what it is, does, and what that paper stuff could have been?

It's most probably a filter thingo (technical term) for the crankcase breather.
    Was it oily inside?
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Could be a filter in a line that recirculates crankcase emissions? I'm not even sure if a CBR does that, but it might.

I just looked up the parts fiche - it's definitely the crankcase breather. The orange thingo is supposed to help condense oil or summat, but isn't important, so you can leave it out.
The parts fiche I looked up was for a CB250 (didn't have a CBR), but the part looked identical.
EDIT: Actually, looking again, it may not be a crankcase breather, but the same thing I had on my VF500's airbox - it condenses water vapour in the airbox, and has a drainplug to allow you to occasionally let the water out. Stops it accumulating in the air box.

But regardless of whether it's for the crankcase or water vapour, don't worry about the orange thing. More than likely, if you wish to replace it, you'll have to buy the whole unit: "Sorry - that's only available ex-Japan, on indent, it will cost $263.57, payable up-front."

    Cheers for that mate!

Yeah there was some liquid in the weird breather thingie, so this is most likely the case. Cheers for everybody's help!
