So I'm looking at buying this 2 stroke...

Specifically, an RGV150 with 26,000kms on the clock. Now I realise that, being a well used 2 stroke, there is a fair-ish chance of the engine/motor etc going kaboom on me shortly into my riding career. So my question is, if it does, what would be an approximate cost to fix it/restore it?
Doing so myself, if possible at all,is pretty much out of the question, as me and my family are very far from mechanically oriented. Like, the only oil we have any experience with is canola. And I hear that doesn't go down well with bikes.
But yeah. Dollar value.

Depends on how Boom it goes - crank rebuild, rebore, gearbox bearings and gears, etc.
With good synthetic oil and some care, 26k isn't knackerd yet. It might need rings and measure the crank for play. My RD350 has 56000km on the original crank. It has been rebored at some stage though. If you are worried, have a look up the exhaust port for blowby and scuffing, or buy a gasket and pull the head off and have a look
A top end rebuild (rebore, ,gaskets, piston kit, odds and sods) would be around $500-600 in parts, using an aftermarket piston kit. A single cylinder crank rebuild is $600-1000+ depending on parts costs and the condition of the crank webs, seals and bearings.
