I'm n Apple fanboy too. Vodafone fucked up by announcing the $199 before the plan prices. Created an expectation.

All NZ phone plan prices are too high. What's new? This has just made everyone aware of the well known.

Skunky - if they lived with one for a week they would STFU.

Pricing is unfortunate, but so were DVD players and big TVs and Brick phones when they first came out.

And that's life folks - if ya want to have the newest toys on the block you've got to be prepared to pay through the nose to have them.....a year down the track and they're shitloads cheaper - and a lot more and even more

I used to row against the guy back in my school days. He's a nice guy, but still struggling to see the point in waiting for an iPhone.

I paid $800 for an Okta Touch when they first came out, kinda regretting it now - should have just got a $150 phone that does everything I need instead of the $800 does everything + way more that I never ever use.

If you think Vodafones plans are expensive... i'm on a slower speed connection for internet on my phone than vodafone offers, I pay $8.50 for the first 10mb... and any mb over that costs $10/mb...that means if i was to download 1GB of data it would cost me $10,140... plus I'd have to go out and get a larger memory card for it - my phone is only 256mb at the moment.

I'll just wait for a few weeks to see if they can unlock the new software (like they did for the 2G iPhone).

Then I'll import a cheap locked phone from the states and unlock it.

Stop slamming him so hard. I read that if he actually becomes the first guy to get the iPhone, his mates will pay for it. Can't find the link though atm!

Yeh for the phone... I doubt his mates are going to pay his monthly bills too.

Not yet, no. But should be able to once they activate their 3G network (although even then their coverage will probably be crap to begin with).

To me a phone you can use as a phone or to txt is all you need - and mine was free and I use about $20 worth of time every two+ months..

    Less is more.
Have to agree - there is only a small amount of people that actually use all the extra bells and whistles. After the novelty and pose value has worn off and you've shown all your mates what it can do, I bet most people just end up using them for calls and texting and maybe the odd photo....just like every other over priced cell phone.
The other thing is I bet they get crappy looking real quick, that high gloss finish is just begging for scratches.........
I'm with scumdog, rather spend the money on something more useful and rewarding.

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes
