Is the pricing much different to a Blackberry?
And.. why is everyone comparing the most expensive tarif? Will anyone really use much more than 250meg? That's $80.. about the same as a Blackberry, IIRC..

The phone part is inconsequential to me.
I have an iPod Touch and I travel a fair bit.
I load it up with Vids, music and pics and take my own entertainment with me. Doesn't matter what is on the plane. I have 2 movies and a few hours of fave TV shows on me. There is an app that saves You Tube movies straight to the devices.
The work stuff I used to take a lap top for is all in my iPod touch - in my pocket - email and surfing - all the good hotels have wi-fi. I've even run presentations off it and used it as a drum machine for jamming.
It has a neoprene case and a screen guard and is still in good condition after 9 months daily use.
Well it sounds like you have the right tool for the purpose you are putting it to, by chance do you have a cell phone too? Just curious.
I certainly wasn't bagging iPod's, they aren't my thing but plenty of mates have them and seem very happy with them.
I just can't see the point in a phone with all that stuff on, because as I said most people simply don't use their phones for much else but a phone.
My phone for instance has an Mp3 player, camera, internet access etc...I don't use any of them except maybe the camera on rare occasions. (I didn't buy the phone BTW, its supplied by work)
The problem with multi purpose devices is that the majority of them are compromised, all the features never work as well as individual items do. If the camera is really good for instance, the phone is probably shite and so on.
I'm sure there are exceptions to this broad generalisation, but if I want to take photos or video I'll use my camera,if i want internet i'll use a computer, if i want to listen to music I'll listen to the stereo at home or in the car (I don't like ear plugs or listening to music while riding, preferring to enjoy the ride without distractions) and from my experience this seems to be the case with most (not all) folks.
But hey, if iPhone's spin your wheels, by all means go spend ya money![]()
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes
We use the blackberrys, and I believe they only come with something like 3MB data (yes, 3!), at about $40/month I think. This is more than enough for email though, as the BBs use their own proprietary email formats which use very little bandwidth. Can very quickly destroy that 3MB if browsing general sites though. They're not 3G yet, so browsing is pretty unusable anyway. Good for checking GMail, and the odd RSS feed.
Oh, and yes, you can easily use more than 250MB since the device is aimed at multimedia usage (viewing youtube videos, downloading itunes content, etc). Very easily...
Nah not interested in any phone really, haven't carried one for nearly 10 years. that the iPhone also has a telephone and a camera are a bonus sort of.
It's the mobile web & entertainment system aspect I like. Pricing means I won't upgrade in the near future however.
I won the iPod in a photo contest.
