    Isn't acute clumsiness an offence?

Oh, it's 170 now? Where does this information come from?

    I wonder what it'll be tomorrow/next week.

True; I don't recall seeing anything by way of a statement from her in the papers. (The Press had a fairly stern editorial this morning.) I would like to hear what she has to say.

Did I hear correctly that Tony gave her (besides the bash) $100k plus another $70k??

I would take a dealing to for that kinda money....
Anyone is free to kick the living shit out of me but a legal document will be signed for the payment of $170k to be banked into my account the very next day.

I don't know that Kristin Dunne-Powell has actually done anything wrong here - legally or morally. No law requires her to report the crime committed against her.

The offender has offered her compensation. Possibly even said opps, my bad.... In many communities in the world this would be acceptable and in the USA money would be the main remedy, criminal prosecution just a sideline.

So, Kirstin has been compensated by the aggressor who has been punished by a financial penalty. It's that simple.

Personally I find Veitch's actions abhorrent, his motivation completely selfserving, and it makes no sense to criticise the victim here.

My sense of outrage says he should be prosecuted, but my logic says he has already been dealt with. Ok, it was outside the criminal justice system but does it matter?

maybe if my tax didnt pay for her rehab i wouldnt have such a problem with it. but when it comes down to it the guy is rooted and his career is down the shitter. he stands to loose his $450,000 + income and will more than likely head overseas anyway.
    karma maybe?

Yes it very much matters. At least if you want to consider this a democrazy with equal rights and duties for all citizens irrespectable of financial and social standing.

Equality before the law is one of the very fundamental values such a society is built upon.

Otherwise you'll have to say - "Oh well they may have lynched that fella - but he broke the law so it's ok."
While vigilante action may appeal to ones personal sense of justice in some cases - there is a really good reason why need objective tribunals to convict people.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

How about you throw sex in there as well?

There is a specific charge "Male assaults Female". Surely that is sexist, assault should be assault no matter what the genders involved.
