I ain't havin' no cunt say that the GSX1400's not an 11 second bike.
With a bit more practise you will get there easily......try different things like taking off in first but with fuck all revs around 2.5 to 3 grand and slip the clutch a wee bit, then nail it as hard as traction allows. With bigger bikes they will turn the rear tyre to easy from the start line because of the down low torque.....something the 600's dont have to worry about, they can load up the revs on the start line.

Top Fuel Enterprises runs the strip Taupo. NZDRA just hold 1 or 2 events there a season.

i just found a couple of interesting tips on another website:

    A couple of launch tips:
    (a) Don't sit on the bike. Lay on it with your legs out behind you almost straight, balancing on your tiptoes. This will give you more weight forward, and help to keep the front end down.

    (b) When you stage, roll in until you light both lights, and then back up until the second light goes out, and then move forward only enough to light it up again. This will keep you as far back as possible, and allow you to launch before the green light, yet not break the beam at the front. If you wait until you actually see green....you're late! (I used to leave when the last yellow lit)

Will have to try tip b next time, i was waiting for the light to go green before i launched (to worried about getting red lighted), am going to go back at some stage, maybe summer, and give it a whirl again.

Sounds like a great idea for a decent prepped dragstrip, terrible idea for an unprepped Meremere in winter. Getting any traction at all with the back end on takeoff is where the challenge lies.
