Slap me if you will. Fuck the kids in africa. This country has enough problems as it is and we are all paying to fix them. When all of our probs are solved then i might think about them(africa). Actually I just had an Idea.

Donations to go towards getting all the men over there vasectomys so that they stop having children and spreading aids virus and making life worse for them selfs.

you need 3g coverage to use the video call feature, if 2g coverage is all thats available then you cant video call (i think?)

to do with itouch/phone, if it only has 3g, then it cant work with only 2g coverage...

    my assumptions anyway

The iPhone, like most other phones, happily degrades back to 2G performance if it cannot find a 3G-capable transmitter. But you can't do video-calling on the iPhone anyway ...

Being pedantic, you'll find it has the option of hopping between UMTS (3G), GPRS (2 1/2G) and GSM (2G). Data can be used on both UMTS and GPRS, and voice can be used on all 3. Video and high speed apps will only work properly on 3G.

You are an Apple fanboy and I claim my $10.

FYI. $400 i-Mate PDA bought 2 years ago spanks it's arse. Wifi, GPS, bundled with Outlook and has some other useful bloody apps too boot. I'm sure any modern Palm bests it too.

Can't think of anything positive to say about it then, gatesboy? :-P

Edit: Karma is a biatch. Just been syncing calendars and migrating to mobile me.
A bricklayer mate once told me 'Only fools and children judge unfinished work' but so far it makes outlook look like gold.

Think I will get one of these today (8GB not 32GB)... and I'll call it "retail/gadget therapy".

I'm esp interested in using it as a Media Remote (inconjunction with my Mac Mini) using Remote Buddy. Very sexy. Like the idea of the wifi internet browsing and big LCD screen. Will likely convert my movies/TV shows that I watch into H.264 format...

...oh and I also want to try and be as cool as Luke.

I 'get by OK' with an 8gb. For me the 16 would be better, (but I haven't seen any competitions to win one :-) ) and the 32 would be overkill.

    yep - and the 1983 XJ900 will spank a 1098.
there's both bikes and do the same thing.
check HTC (they make the i-mate) and palm's share price.

    nice.

While I can't really justify the cost of the 8GB (in simple terms), I really can't justify the extra $130 (?) for the extra 8GB (for the 16GB). Hope the iPhone apps aren't huge, and I only have about 2GB of music on my MP3 player at the moment if I'm really discerning.
