    Big fire in Hastings

Looking over Hastings/Whakatu way there is a huge pall of smoke. Worried that we have a coolstore fire like Tamahere did. Anyone know anything?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Just saw on the news - big explosion at a cool store followed by a fire.

By the look of it, it is Apollo Pac, which is situated next door to Enza/Turners and Growers, where I used to work.

Apparently it is Enza International/Turners and Growers.

According to NewstalkZB the local fire services are on the 4th alarm out of 5 max.

Sounds like one serious fire! Let's hope they get it under control quickly - sounds like there are plenty of "fuel" for a serious bonfire in the immediate vincity.

    'Atomic bomb'!

Oh, no, wait, apparently it's like a 'volcanic explosion'.

Gawd, I'm having second thoughts about living in Hawkes Bay, now, if all the residents are so darn familiar with nucular bombs and active volcanoes.

Just heard from my old workmates. Apparently the fire was started in one of the empty stores, close to the main offices. Everyone has been evacuated and are currently working from home.

If I was still down there I could have had the day off
