Hmm, Newlands GP, the council was always looking for ideas for the old Newlands tip site over looking the harbour, good place to walk the dog but if some how we could get the perimiter track sealed it would make an excellent bucket track. (would make a change from when we used to have MX GPs over there in the 70's)

What's the story about this Sunday up in Newlands? And does people know much about the race track in Makara call something like BOONDOCK?

You might be thinking of Boomrock, a day retreat for corporate types and confrences on the cliffs north of Makara over looking Cook straight. Has a few activities like single hole golf corse and clay bird shooting and a small circut. from memory Joe Mc Andrew, ex national rally champ, would take folk for a spin round there and scare the crap out of them. I think you can see it on google earth just nort of Pipinui Point

I heard that there was a private track which got used to test Mercedes etc. A mate of mine did some plumbing work on the property and told me about it.
