Orange peel - how to prevent?

how do you prevent orange peel? i know how to remove it, but i want to stop (or greatly reduce) it in the first place.

what causes it? is it not enough thinners?

    cheers

It's caused by God - he uses it to protect the insides of the oranges from insects, rot, that sort of thing.

'Orange peel' paint finish is .. oh fuck it - don't you know how to google stuff?!? Or are you just like, really lazy?

All I did was thought for a nanosecond or 27,548,061 and typed in "orange peel paint finish", although "paint orange peel" would've worked more betterer and been more economical.

first off totally clean and steelo pad finish..
    primer...........wetsand.fucking time spent here..pays off

first and following coats of colour, must be applied without to wet inbetween coats as dimples will form between chemical action time... sorry got these got orange peel finish already..aren't worth clearcoating...... allow dry...wet sand etc..
    restart...

yea can short cut. but why.....awesome finish needs time applied...
airpressure, guns cleaned prior and between, heated booth, air daft, air lines filtered to guns... nope not alot of cost...however alot of time..

yup..but if its showen in the colour coat its not worth that sparkle finish as the sand for clearcoating is really only for dust settleand chemecial pop.. clearcoat will only follow whats underneath it..its not a filler...neither is the colour...primer finish is the most important time spent.....i've put 16 coats of colour on my friends sportee, aqua paint.. and eight coats of clear, should have done another three or four clear.. cause i had the time to do..and it took time..but far out the different shades it turned at different angles.. awesome..and no orange peel.. its really how its applied.. how it comes out..

16 coats of colour and 8 coats of clear? Are you for real? I couldn't imagine a paint on the planet that would require the amount you state including lacquer.
Applying copious amounts of paint is begging for a fuck-up! Seriously, what were you using?
