    New Biker (Silent Knight)

    Hey all,

I'm new to the biking world, just got a CBR250 this week and have no clue on the mechanics of bikes etc yet!

I've always been a car person but thought it's time to get a taste of both worlds...

This is probably the wrong forum to ask this in but I'm going to try anyway. :P

    1. How do you check oil levels on a bike?
    2. What sort of oil would a CBR250 (MC17) use?
    3. What sort of mileage can I expect from it?
    4. What sort of oil would this bike use and how do I change it?

Yes, yes I know, very noob!
Ask me to take a car apart and I'll do that for ya!

    they last for ever.. :-)

Ive serviced my hornet 3 times in 6500km you dont need to do this.. I just get bored.
Oil there should be a dipstick on side of the engine that unwinds. What year is the bike. Make sure you lube your chain and keep tension up.

Welcome to KB - dont take all the answers you get seriously - you may end up using treacle to lube your bike with... otherwise, its a great site with heaps of interesting people and possible get togethers.

    Enjoy your new hobby
