    Sigh. If the grasp of physics (yes, that's how it's spelt), maths and chemistry is anything like the above demonstrated grasp of English (unless we're talking ESOL, which would be more encouraging), then I really worry about who's going to be aspiring to run our world in 10-20 years' time...

    Anyway, congratulations to all who "passed" NCEA.

    I thought that given our politically correct world nobody was allowed to "pass" or "fail" anymore and got credit for just turning up??

    Heh heh. I'll wait until my papers arrive until I make a proper comment, but these results say achieved which means (without backcrediting) that I passed on the bare minimum. It could also mean that I did well in the merit and excellence questions but missed one or two crucial ones to obtain those marks.

    NCEA (National Certificate of Educational Achievement) is New Zealand's main national qualification for secondary school students and part of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
