    Wanted: CBR250RR Muffler

Want a muffler that I can debaffle for the CBR. Want to keep the original pipe in original condition. I guess most pipes would suit it but I have no idea :spudwhat:

TwoSeven, could you give me some more info on this pipe. Does the loud noise get annoying and do you get any complaints from others?

Also, you say it takes the bike up to 40hp. I though the CBR250RR has 45hp stock.

no cibbies range from 35 to to about 38 - 40 on a good day with new chain and sprockets. Because it does not require jetting it fills in all the gaps in the rev range - especially the one at peak power (there is a 5bhp drop there) - so the throttle is really linear and it pulls very hard.

You'll have to should louder - i'm deaf.

I put it on the bike every now and again - usually when I wanted give it a bit of wellie. At full tilt I measured it at 140dB which is painful without ear plugs. Only an old chap on a push bike complained - but I think he was a greenie anyway and I used to try and run the begger over.

Its quieter than having no baffle in a stock exhaust if you put it that way but louder than having a can that needs jetting.

I'm quite tempted by that auction TwoSeven.
I had an aftermarket can on my cbr that was basically straight through but a little while ago I swapped it for a standard one as I thought it was bad for my hearing .
Unfortunatly the standard one is too quiet so I semi de-baffled it and now it sounds a bit funny :disapint: louder but kind of farty rather than deep and raspy like the other one

    Just a thought.....

If you're wanting to take the CBR out in vic club series aftermarket pipes/mufflers are not allowed
Please note that some of the 250cc 4 cylinder race replicas come from Japan with aftermarket exhaust pipes fitted. These bikes will be permitted. Please note also, it is VERY EASY for us to tell if a new exhaust system has been fitted. This is NOT permitted.
Maybe need to talk to derek hill or somesuch to see where you stand with replacements.

I already know about that. I was also going to save up for a fibreglass fairing, but that is out of the question. I just really want the can for on the road . I was also going to try and make my own header set at metalwork next year (as a original set at Buckets and bits is 150, and I was planning to cut it up).

I was also going to experiment with the idea of making a spoiler that you can strap onto the pillion seat, might improve wheelies, and talking about wheelies, I was also going to make a wheelie bar.

    I love metalwork
