$120 for a Spool 7 link - according to Two Smoker who raves about them. They also range from 3 link through to 7 link. Depending on height he says to go for either 6 or 7 link.

Quality.. Spidi or AlpineStars.
I have a no-name one, and it suits me just fine.
The kidney belt part is great. Gives HEAPS of support.

I use the 6 link model,think it was about $100 a couple of years ago, comfortable to wear and I now use it on my roadbike all the time as well

keep an eye out on trademe, 2 months ago i picked up a Tecknic tourer back protector, brand new for $20. Still had rapping on it.
He also sold a full 6 or wot eva link on for about $50.
They feel so comfy to wear while riding i always wear mine

My Spidi fits pretty well, but doesn't actually seem to give me any support when I'm riding.

I chose quality over price cos I want something that'll do the business when/if I bin hard and land on, or hit, my back/spine.

I forgot to mention,I've track tested mine on 3 occasions and got lots of bruises,grazes etc everywhere but my back!

Whatever you get,check it's CE rating - for back protectors that is...EN1621-2.

the 5500, Really top notch quality, and although i havnt seen progrip back protectors really out there (new to the market basically) there are well known for there MX gear like armour, protective pants etc.

What do they retail at like somewhere the far side of $200.
