I thought 800cc bikes were fast???? My VFR400 can probably do 220kmh.

Yep, I'd believe it. I've drafted both of my CBR250RR's up to over 200 indicated. More likely 190. But once you get over 200k/hr, the wind resistance increases exponentially. To get a little bit of extra speed you need a lot more power, or decrease the coefficient of drag (a much more efficient way of increasing top speed). The VFR800 is big, and I don't think it's particularly aerodynamic.

Plus the early 90's small capacity Hondas were wonderful machines. I love them. My dream bike... VFR400RR (if only they were injected).

Yeah, they're reasonably good, aerodynamics wise. The V4 engine means the bike's not very wide.

But it's so tall, and the position the rider is put in is not all that aerodynamic, maybe it was because I had a pillion too. I think I got it to 220 indicated in the dry 200 in the wet. But I got a hayabusa up to 260 with a pillion. I'll have a look for aerodynamic stats at lunch time 3pm nz time.

ive had my 800 up to 250kmph and know of someone thats had one upto 270kmph,

dont matter anyway because ill own everyone anyway!!!

you can get a vfr400 up to around 210 but fuck does it take a day and a half. Guess if you put shitty gearing on it you could go faster but again it would then take 2 days

does anyone know how the 02 800 compares to say the 05 or 08 models. Did the VTEC fixes make a difference???

The VTEC kicks in at approx 6,600 RPM. Ive done the mods to make the 'kick' less a foot up the arse and more fluid. Some people just hate the VTEC where as I, just love it. Think of it as a powerband or turbo kicking in.
