    02 VFR800 vtec test

oh yes, this bike, the one with all the supposed problems.
snatchy throttle, snappy power deliver when going into vtec mode.
linked brakes, and poor turning in are also said to be issues.

    thats all shit.

this bike is a great smooth sports tourer, it is a bit thirsty when in vtec (200k to a tank).
i rode it today, it could wheelie it in the wet through first and second, we dragged a F2 CBR 600, and they were pretty even up to 230kph, the F2 got off the line better, but it just wouldn't go over 240 kph, i was tucked right in, the road was nice and straight, but the VFR still passed me!
this bike is comfortable to ride, pillion's have good leg room and a nice broad seat.
to ride its easier than my race modded CBR 600 F4i was.
it feels a bit bulky, but its pretty easy to ride, just be mindful of your throttle use, and just be gentle and progressive on the gas.
i found the bike to be a bit slow, not peaky really.
the brakes have sweet feedback, the bike feels very stable.
we had it over 200kph in the rain on public roads and it handled it fine.

    so there you are

    VFR's are all sweet!

Yeah I had a VFR800 up over 200 with a pillion in the rain. Nice bike, but too big and bulky for my liking... I'm more a fan of a bicycle with lots of power.

Just the one vtec, kicked in around 8000rpm i think. Not much of a power spike or anything which is good.

Ah yeah I had a VFR (pre-Vtec) up to 220 km/h indicated, on the track.
I could gorn faster if I had more time to get used to it.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

I thought 800cc bikes were fast???? My VFR400 can probably do 220kmh.

Top speed for a standard VFR800 is ~240 km/h. They're only ~105hp, and kinda heavy, and actually only 781cc.
