    vmcc round 3 prize giving????

Wet day but a great one at that. cost well over a grand for new wets and dry tyres , $709 for race motel for family who wanted to watch this time , $350 for food cost not to mention two vehicles fuel costs $200 for garage and the $160 for entry and day licence.(being only my secound race). All of that worth every penny for that green ribbon only in clubmans.... (B at that) in front of all 11 people who waited in the wet cold darkness(good on ya). This is my point.

For all the work the organises put into this event is this the best we can do. Not to mention those that stayed we're from the dear I say it the lower classes not superikes or suersport. The abuse they yelled at each other as they collected their prize was fun to watch. However is it not like winning1st 2nd or 3rd at a golf CLUB tournament and all three winners go straight home. Even there the person who comes in last stays to congradulate the winners...and have a handle or two while waiting.

To be real it was too late wet and cold but I am sure this could be overcome . Perhaps direcly after the last result comes in and B4 people start packing prize giving could be given. Or perhaps at an after function bar would be cool and I'm sure a lot of fun. Would also give us the riders a chance to show our appreciation for the organisers and all the time they have put in.

Just a thought, I did'nt say it was a good one. Tell me

They will post out your winners sash, if you can't make the prize giving. I wouldn't expect many to hang round in poxy weather though.

Come to think of it they owe me a couple ! Gaz.

I just feel for sorry for the organisers who have to run around collect the ribbons ,papers organise them and then no one shows. Maybe save them a job all together.....and not have to print anymore prize ribbons... but is this not what fun club days are all about. Might start up my golf membership again its more fun at the after functions. Saw some young kids get their ribbons in their classes they were very proud to get them and add to a long list of events they will be in.Last time I had no idea there WAS a prize giving , it was only cos I heard them say somthing in the morning. No I did'nt get the last one mailed out and I don't think they should have to courier out 20 or 30 ribbons. PUB sounds really good thouh.

That's actually not a bad idea. I'm sure more riders would like to congratulate the winners but many have to go sharpish due to long drives home.

Better still wait until the end of the season organise a large Facility in a central place and have a bleeding good night.
A lot of hard work goes into Race days and especialy last Sat cos the weather was terrible a lot packed up and went home to early but got dark to quick. Was a good day of raceing and I totaly enjoyed the day apart from getting a ticket.

You're onto it luv, most of us are. I had a plane to catch at Wgtn airport at 6:30, the other team with me had a plane to catch out of Palmerston North and Matt actually had to miss his final race of the day. I'm sure alot of guys are in the same boat.

For the record Petrolic, you'll see almost the whole feild support the prize winners at the final rounds prize giving later in the year. Sorry if we let you down for not hanging around to congratulate you in the pissing rain yesterday.

You miserable bistard White Crash!! I know you had to hop on a jet to be over in Brno for the World Superbike round, but you have just crushed the soul of an up and coming motorcycle racer, by not blessing him with your presence. Shame on you Trashie!!!! Shame on you!!! I hope Corser beats ya now...........

Used to be `compulsory' prize-giving at the Awahuri pub. Instead of taking Fridays off to go testing (geez thats trying a bit hard innit?), should take Mondays off so you can attend DBriefing.
