    Tyre Pressures, and other advice?

This will be a first for me. Any advice re:tyre pressures, etc., for dragging a bike (namely "Roxanne")?

My cages that I used to drag on street tyres had the pressures dropped 8-10 psi for sidewall flex and traction on launch... wouldnt know on bikes tho... people I knew that ran bikes ran drag tyres....
a big contact patch is nice but you dont want anything weird (wobbles, too much heat) at speed
    or wheelies
All depends on your launch technique....
    slip the clutch.....

Yep everyone the Drag nite is this Friday!!! All the bikes normally park up next to the grandstand by the start line (because they can).

I wouldn't worry about tweaking anything until you have a few runs under your belt. Just ride what you know first off and go from there. Its very casual so no need to stress about the finer points as it will probably take you 5-10 runs to get your technique sorted anyway.

For first timers it pays to get there early as then you will have the track to yourself and can get in a bit of practice before the crowds roll up.

Ok,r we gonna meet at the a/b or just make our own way down?
What sort of meet is it,a points meet or just a casual meet?
The only real advice I can give is lower pressure helps 10-15psi,and a short burnout helps heaps.Launch on the last orange.
If it's a points meet you can run DYO if you want,or just run heads up in the bike class.
Dyo is better for any slower vehicles,it means you are only racing your own times.....
Heads up is simple first over the line wins.....

Usually just as practice is finishing, so you could probably sign up to race any time up to around 9pm.

Talk to Arven, he dragged his old Gixxer750 at Meremere a few times. I think he started with some scary sideways action due to the strip having far less traction than the street but sussed it out eventually with some decent times in the 11???sec bracket.

Best time for a run at Meremere is after a V8 meet when the track has been preped properly.....or so Iv heard anyway.

    Good luck!
