Not bad going, trackside photography is not easy, even with good gear. You're shooting a moving target that at times... is seriously moving.

You may want to try setting the camera to more manual settings (if it has them) and focus on one point on the track, and take the photo as the bike enters the spot. This however won't get the neat shots of a focussed bike and blurred background, and for this, you'll need to track the bike.

Other factors such as position of sun/shadows, your position, chosen position on track (ie, layout, how fast the bikes are moving etc) then come into play. You'll also need some decent zoom to get close and then you start spending more and more on gear

Tis a lot of fun really, nothing more satisfying than watching people enjoy the shots (nothing professional for me, just a hobby). Probably the best place to start taking pics is the inside of corners that aren't too far away from the action, as the bikes are moving a bit slower.

Gratuitious chance to post a shot of Jill I guess

    Thanks for the tips ey!!
That's an awesome shot of Jill!

I tried the tracking the bike technique, worked for few shots..But I think i definitly need a better camera with, as you said, a decent zoom.
The camera I took pics with is a Canon Powershot A80, 4 megapixels and few years old.
If i'm there next round, i'll try some of your tips Cheers for that
