Stoner comes across as a whinging moaner and not for the first time...
Yeah, Rossi is ahead in the mind games - as he usually is.

If Stoner doesn't stump up now, that could be the championship gone.

"It has been shown several times that if things get personal then Valentino tends to come out on top. This has been demonstrated to both Mr Biaggi and Mr Gibernau. The Doctor does not waste ammunition on those opponents who are not a threat to him."

You lot are a bit quick putting the knife into Stoner. Even Rossi has said his comments are understandable. The young fella was speaking his mind which is better than the corporate PC lies we normally have to stomach from sportsmen who are thinking something else.
Rossi knew that all Stoner needed was 3 corners to get away - and showed all his incredible passing skill in denying him. About half the passes (from each rider) were pretty desperate - not a worry if you're watching or happen to win... Rossi will have to keep qualifying / starting with Stoner to keep pulling this trick off, of course.
What a treat though! Bit of a worry that Stoner can crash and still finish second comfortably - motoGP (and Michelin) needs a fit Pedrosa, Lorenzo (traction control my arse) & a Dovisioso with another year's experience. And another 15 bikes on the grid.

I'm with you on that! None of them seem to remember Rossi moaning about anything last year!

He did have some cause; promises were made and not kept. It must have been immensely frustrating.

Stoner has developed into a top class rider, he can win anywhere, in the wet or in the dry. What I can't understand is how come he is the only person in the world who seems to be able to ride that bloody Ducati. Capirossi was always competitive until he got it, Milandri is no mug either.

Rossi has more "lines" than anybody else, this weekend Stoner got to look at some...

I think the thing is, Rossi may have been a bit of a prima donna last year, but Stoner looked genuinely rattled and pissed off after yesterday's race, which doesn't bode too well for his ability to handle the jandal.

He definitely looked like he was riding at 100% at Laguna Seca. It must suck to realise that when the chips are really all down and the playing field is level, the other guy can bring more mojo to the table than you can.

And I guess world champion level GP racers have never been known for their humility...

Who gives a fuck, it all makes the racing far more entertaining!

Yeah was interesting to see the different lines they both took sometimes.

Gonna be a great finish to the year me thinks.

Rossi's dirt tracking at the corkscrew was an amazing display of skill. No only did he keep it upright but he also kept his place. How can any mortal have a moment like that and still keep on the gas?!?!?

They almost came together after that but no one at fault. Rossi was recovering while Stoner was trying to pass on the outside so was unintentional

Rossi did swerve into Stoner tho when he was making a pass on Rossi on the front straight but Rossi did pull up short just before hitting him. If Stoner got a fright from that and backed off then thats his fault.

Also Stoner still coming in 2nd was more due to the 30s gap they had. It still cost him 16s. In a typical race that would've been 10 places.

And Lorenzos high side was spectacular.

Best Race in a long time. A definate keeper.

Quality race. Stoner is being a bitch. I imagine he realises it now and wouldn't really care anymore but he's already gone and opened his mouth on tv and it's all over the internet so it's a bit hard to take it back now.

Max gets the treatment Rossi style!

    and Sete

Rossi and his chief mechanic, Jeremy Burgess, insisted that they were doing nothing more than what many others had done before when faced with a dirty track and Rossi accused Gibernau of being behind the move to appeal for a sanction, something the Spaniard categorically denied. Since then the two have not spoken and Rossi seemed to resolve to use the incident to apply psychological pressure on Gibernau. He is said to have sworn that after the Qatar race, which Gibernau won while Rossi crashed out after rising to 6th position, he would do everything to make sure that Gibernau never stood on the highest step of the podium again

Gibernau retired from Grand Prix racing after an unsuccessful, injury blighted 2006 season with Ducati and he never won another race after Qatar, prompting some in the Spanish and Italian motorcycle racing media to explain this fact by way of reference to the "Qatar curse".

Be very careful Stoner, you never pick on the biggest guy in the bar!
